COMMUNITY NEWS, HISTORY & TIDBITS

Stuart Low, art writer for Rochester's Democrat and Chronicle, interviewed us in our studio Monday, for what turned out to be a sizable feature article in this Sunday's "Living" section. We wanted to let you know...especially those of you who have supported us, collected our work, or are interested in Hemlock & Canadice Lakes, so you can have the article for whatever reason. Here is the link to the online version, but the actual newspaper article is huge and with 3 big photos! Click HERE

Our work to preserve Hemlock and Canadice Lakes (especially the book) has been very well received and appreciated. We certainly don't want anything to happen to these marvelous lakes! Already visions are coming to me, about a project for next year, which would include any of you who want to participate in efforts towards preserving and protecting the lakes. Please let me know if you might be interested.

Our best to you, with good wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.

Do YOU Know?

Who founded Livonia and where was the first settler's house located?

Answer sent in by James vonBraun:
Solomon Woodruff in 1789 was 1st settler.
Peter Pitts purchased the land from Phelps and Gorham. On February 12, 1808, Pittstown became divided. The western half was named Livonia after a Russian province which bore the same name.
